In a do-or-die Game 5 for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday night in the NLCS, it was utility player and National League All-Star Chris Taylor who not only stepped into the spotlight, but stole it.

Taylor clubbed three home runs for the Dodgers in a game they had to win to keep their season alive. They did just that by knocking off the Atlanta Braves to force a Game 6.

Per ESPN, Taylor was certainly soaking in the moment following the game and the win for the Dodgers.

“It's definitely a surreal feeling,” Taylor said. “I never thought I was going to hit three homers in a game, let alone a postseason game.”

Taylor was an All-Star this year for LA but struggled so much down the stretch run of the season, that Dodgers manager Dave Roberts had taken him out of the everyday lineup. Taylor clubbed a walk off homer against the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Wild Card Game and has been back in his groove ever since. He knows in baseball it's all about riding the wave and he's certainly been on a high for the Dodgers in the postseason.

“You gotta take the lows with the highs,” Taylor said. “Everything gets amplified in the postseason. And it's a game of failures. You're going to make mistakes. And then there's moments like tonight where that's what makes it worth it. That's why you just put your head down and keep moving forward.”

Game 6 will be back in Atlanta. The Braves need to just take one of the two games to advance to the World Series while the Dodgers will need to win both.
