After Wednesday night's 9-2 destruction of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Atlanta Braves have taken a commanding 3-1 lead in the National League Championship Series. Fret not though, LA fans, for your squad has been down this road before. The hill to climb will be brutal but the Dodgers can certainly rip off three straight.

Here are three ways the Dodgers can comeback from a 3-1 deficit against the Braves in the NLCS.

1.) The starting pitching needs to carry the load

It's been a roller coaster ride for the LA offense for much of the postseason. Manager Dave Roberts has tried to mix-and-match while clicking the right buttons and the results have been split.

LA is already missing Max Muncy, who hasn't played at all in the postseason. After Game 4, it now appears Justin Turner will be out the rest of the way with a hamstring injury. As a result, it's time for the rotation for the Dodgers to step up and show their dominance.

In Game 3, which the Dodgers won, starter Walker Buehler only lasted 3.1 innings while surrendering four runs (two earned). In a Game 2 loss, it was Max Scherzer who said afterward that he was dealing with a “dead arm.” He could only go 4.1 innings. On Wednesday night, Julio Urias was rocked, giving up 8 hits, 5 runs and 3 home runs in just five innings of work for the Dodgers. LA's rotation was so dominant all year and they have three Cy Young candidates in Scherzer, Buehler and Urias. If they are to comeback in this series it starts with the starting pitching.

Now, it looks like it will be a bullpen game in Game 5 on Thursday evening but you can bet that if need be, Roberts will empty the tank and toss in his starters (not Urias who just pitched Wednesday) if it gets to that point. He's already shown a willingness to do it this postseason when he brought in Scherzer in an elimination Game 5 against the San Francisco Giants in the NLDS and he's used Urias out of the bullpen in the NLCS.

The offense is a reeling a bit and this rotation has elite, top tier names that can carry the burden over the duration of this series.

2.) They've seen the blueprint before.

Last year in the NLCS, it was Dodgers – Braves. Last year in the NLCS, Atlanta also led 3-1. Last year the wins in the series went: Braves, Braves, Dodgers, Braves, Dodgers, Dodgers, Dodgers. This year it has unfolded exactly the same up to this point.

A 3-1 deficit in any sport whether its the MLB Postseason, the NBA Playoffs or the NHL Playoffs, can feel insurmountable. It helps being able to pull from recent history and show that it's already been accomplished. This won't feel like an impossible hole for the Dodgers to dig out of because they quite literally did it last year against the Braves in this spot.

It's a new year and the rosters have different pieces but this Atlanta team has more of an underdog mentality without Ronald Acuna Jr. in the lineup. There aren't many who would look up-and-down these two rosters and claim the Braves have the upper hand. It often doesn't play out how it appears on paper though. Still, this is a Dodgers team loaded with talent, MVP's, Cy Young winners and much more. If they lose straight up to the Braves and can't come back, they'll have to tip their cap to Atlanta. This won't be a team lacking confidence or playing frightened despite the hole they've dug themselves though.

The Dodgers did it last year and they absolutely have the pieces to comeback again this year. It all starts with Game 5.

3.) Avoid the avalanche innings and stop the bleeding

Whether it's the rotation or the bullpen, the Dodgers have been sensational all year at limiting the big innings from the opposition. In this series against the Braves, it's been those avalanche moments that have really stood out.

In Game 2, the Braves scored three runs across the last two innings, erasing a 4-2 deficit and winning on a walk-off. In Game 3, the Dodgers not only struck first with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, but they won the game. However, Atlanta hung a four spot up in the 4th inning and tacked on another run in the 5th. It took an epic meltdown from Atlanta's bullpen late for LA to rally and win the game 6-5. In their 9-2 loss on Wednesday, the Braves scored four total runs in the second and third innings combined and hung another crooked number of four runs in the 9th inning.

It's been bizarre to see this from the Dodgers and with the margin for error super small trailing this series 3-1, they have to limit the breakout innings from Atlanta. They are more than capable of doing so. Limiting the damage and working their way out of jams will be critical for LA to crawl back into this series.

The pitching needs to carry the weight, the Dodgers have already executed this blueprint before and they need to limit the really big innings from Atlanta. It's a lot to ask but when you're on your last life in the NLCS, the road to a comeback isn't going to be easy. For LA, it's still doable.
