Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer's defamation case against a woman who accused him of sexual assault just got more interesting. Bauer, who claimed the woman “fabricated allegations of sexual assault” in an effort to “destroy” his reputation, appealed his two-year suspension from the MLB while also filing a defamation lawsuit against the woman and various media outlets back in April. Now, the woman has fired back at Bauer through her attorneys, as reported by ESPN.

As part of her response, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the woman denied that her initial statement to police, in which she accused Bauer of non-consensual rough sex in May 2021, was “false, misleading or defamatory.” She also denied that she sought a domestic violence restraining order for “improper purpose” and that the photographs of her injuries submitted in court were “altered or filtered,” among dozens of other allegations made by Bauer's legal team in an initial suit.

Per ESPN, the woman, whose response was filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, denied any falsehood to her initial statement to the police accusing Trevor Bauer of non-consensual rough sex.

She went on to deny that she sought a restraining order for “improper purpose” and that the photos of her injuries were “altered or filtered.” Those were among the many allegations made by the Dodgers star's legal team.

The 2020 National League Cy Young award winner, Bauer signed a three-year, $102 million deal with the Dodgers in February of last year. He has not taken the mound since the first half of the 2021 season.

Now, he's in for a defamation battle after this woman's fiery response.
