In a story you almost knew would eventually happen, Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh attempted to chokeslam Baltimore Ravens quarterback Ryan Mallett on Thursday evening.

With his team down 26-0 and the Ravens on the verge of scoring again in the fourth quarter, Ndamukong Suh jumped offside, drawing a whistle that blew the play dead. Still, for some reason, Suh pushed Ravens quarterback Ryan Mallett, who took exception and shoved him back.

According to the defensive standout, he was merely protecting himself.

Simple as this,” Suh said, via Chris Perkins of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel“He came at me and tried to attack me, and I’m protecting myself.”

Suh also went on to say he doesn't regret the incident and he won't change how he plays the game of football.

“I think guys just want to go out there and play and compete at the end of the day,” he said. “For me I’m going to continue playing and going as hard as I can, trying to make plays whatever the score is. I’m going to be out there and be physical, go out there and try to make plays, TFLs (tackles for losses), whatever it is.

“I’m not going to lay down. I’ve never been that guy, never will be that guy.”

Poor Ryan Mallett. No one on Earth would like to get their neck grabbed by a man of Suh's size.

For what it is worth, to add some context to this, Suh has been voted more than once by other players the dirtiest player in the NFL.
