The Miami Dolphins would be absolutely thrilled if Brian Flores followed in the footsteps of Bill Belichick to become the NFL's next great coach. As the New England Patriots and their legion of fans across the country have come to realize, though, don't expect Flores to offer much insight during media appearances should that ultimately prove the case.

Flores met with a national audience of reporters for one of the first times on Wednesday, and apparently reminded Chris Wesseling of NFL.com of a certain someone.

Fun!

Miami introduced Brian Flores as its new head coach February 7th, the day after he called defensive plays for the Patriots in their, 13-3, victory over the Los Angeles Rams, considered by many as perhaps the most impressive defensive performance in Super Bowl history. The Dolphins, 7-9 in 2018, fired Adam Gase on December 31st following another disappointing season. The team went 23-25 during his three-year tenure in South Florida.

Flores began his coaching career in 2004, catching on as a scouting assistant with the Patriots after his playing career was cut short by an injury suffered in his final season at Boston College. He quickly rose through the ranks from there, assisting with special teams and the offense before shifting his focus to defense full time beginning in 2011. Following last season’s departure of defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, Belichick expanded Flores’ responsibilities to include calling the defensive plays on game day, in addition to coaching New England’s linebackers.

Defensive genius. Inconsequential press conferences. What's next for Brian Flores? An imminently sour demeanor and hoodie after hoodie after hoodie, perhaps.
