Looks like Malcolm Brown is headed to South Beach. The Miami Dolphins and Brown agreed to a contract on Tuesday, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Brown was a quality player for the Los Angeles Rams where he suited up for six seasons and averaged an overall of 4.0 yards per carry.

The running back is coming off a two-year, $3.3 million contract with the Rams. He will likely receive a one-year deal worth around $1.25-to $1.5 million to prove his worth on the field once again. Last season, Brown had a productive year where he yielded a total of 419 rushing yards, 162 receiving yards, and five touchdowns.  He also scored 10 rushing touchdowns on 170 carries in the past two seasons. However, Brown was on the same team as Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson when he racked up those stats.

The Dolphins might still be looking to upgrade their backfield in the offseason but for now, Brown is currently the backup Myles Gaskin. Brown was an asset for the Rams primarily in the passing and third-down situations during the playoffs.

In terms of his fantasy value, Brown has the potential to be valuable for the Dolphins given his versatility and skill to pass block. It’s just a matter of knowing who the running back will be for the Dolphins.

As per the Rams, Xavier Jones seems to be their target for the backfield slot next season joining Akers and Henderson. The Rams finished second in the NFC West last year while the Dolphins finished second in the AFC East.
