Kyle Van Noy made the switch from the New England Patriots to the Miami Dolphins this offseason. With his new team set to square off against his former team in Week 1, Van Noy anticipates a ton of trash talk from his former teammates on the Patriots.

“Yeah, going against them, they’re familiar with me. I’m familiar with them. I’m excited for this task,” Van Noy said, via MassLive.com. “They’ve been talking trash the four years I’ve been there, so I’m excited to see if we both can back it up.”

When Van Noy and the Dolphins travel to Gillette Stadium on Sunday, there won't be any fans in the stands. As a result, fans from home may get more opportunities to hear what is being said on the field. Van Noy said that hearing the players during games could be a ‘cool experience' for fans.

Back in 2016, Van Noy found himself being traded from the Detroit Lions to the Patriots. The former second-round pick out of BYU would proceed to spend three seasons in New England, helping the team win two Super Bowls in the process.

A season ago, Van Noy was a key factor in the Patriots having the No. 1 ranked defense in the NFL. The versatile linebacker tallied 56 tackles, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, a touchdown, and a career-best 6.5 sacks.

After a productive tenure in New England, Van Noy capitalized on a four-year, $51 million deal with the Dolphins this offseason. Despite being close with his former teammates, Van Noy knows that his friendships are put aside once the game kicks off on Sunday.
