When Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Kyler Murray takes a seat during the NFL Draft, online bettors seem to think that the Miami Dolphins will be the team that ends up giving him a chance in the NFL.
According to online betting site BetOnline, the site has currently given the Miami Dolphins the best odds of landing the baseball star turned quarterback. Currently sitting at +150 odds, the Dolphins sit just above other teams in need of a quarterback, including the New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars, and surprisingly the Arizona Cardinals.
While Murray will be participating in both the NFL Combine and the NFL Draft, it’s still up in the air as to where exactly he’ll be playing.
The possible connection to the Dolphins likely stems from a recent report by ESPN, which stated that the Dolphins loved Baker Mayfield last year and could possibly take a chance on Murray, who is of a similar build and makeup.
When Murray announced that he would be choosing the NFL over life as an MLB player, it was met with a mixed reception. Murray was a bonafide star for Oklahoma, but it remains to be seen whether or not his skill and ability can transfer to the NFL.
Currently, Murray is said to be training heavily as he prepares for tryouts and team interviews, so it does seem like he’s well aware of the many challenges awaiting him in the NFL. One thing is certain, though, and that’s if he’s anywhere as good as he was in college in the NFL, Murray will quickly join the ranks of the future stars of the NFL.
