It has been nearly two weeks since Jay Cutler decided to sign a one-year, $10 million deal to join the Miami Dolphins.

In that time, he has gotten a strong impression of his new teammates. One of which is wide receiver Devante Parker, who he compared to one of his former Chicago Bears' teammates, according to Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald.

“I think he's kind of a faster Alshon, a little bit,” Cutler said. “He's got a lot of range. Back-shoulder, over the top. He's got great hands. And he can burn you up if you get (stuck) flat-footed.”

The comparison to Alshon Jeffery is a major compliment given that he is a former Pro Bowl wideout that shown to be an elite talent when healthy. He has strung together two seasons with at least 1,000 yards and 85 catches in his first five years in the NFL.

Parker has quickly become one of the rising stars in the league at his position after he showed much promise in his second year making 56 catches for 744 receiving yards and four touchdowns. This was a significant improvement from his rookie campaign where he struggled to get on the field and didn't make an impact until late in the year.

That said, the 24-year-old has an opportunity to put up a huge season with a proven quarterback in Cutler throwing him the ball who has he shown in the past that he can spread the ball to his receivers in the passing game with the likes of Jeffery and Brandon Marshall at his disposal during his tenure with the Bears.
