Four Alabama Crimson Tide players were selected in the first round, and now all four of them have signed their rookie contract.

According to Ian Rapoport of ESPN, the Miami Dolphins signed defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick who was the 11th overall pick to a four year $16.4 million deal. Like all first-round picks, the team holds a fifth-year option on Fitzpatrick that they can pick up.

Fitzpatrick is known for his work ethic, and just because he's in the NFL doesn't mean that is going to change. Via the Miami Dolphins Website:

“If you’re going to be great, you’ve always got to do extra. There’s no extraordinary without extra,” Fitzpatrick said. “Being in the NFL wasn’t the end goal. I wanted to be a great player in the NFL, a legendary player in the NFL. I’ve made it to this part of the journey but there’s a whole lot more left to go.”

A season ago Fitzpatrick won the Chuck Bednarik and Jim Thorpe Awards and was considered by many the best defensive back in the draft class. He played cornerback and safety last year with the Crimson Tide, and also was a very good on the blitz.

The Dolphins are going to be able to move him around a lot, and he could be a hybrid player for them if that's what they want to do.

The Dolphins were too strapped with the salary cap only having about $300,000 in space which made signing some rookies impossible.

On Friday, they received the post-June 1st designation they put on Ndamukong Suh when they released him, so they received about $17 million in cap exception.
