Although the Miami Dolphins may have won their first game of the 2019 NFL season, it seems they are not done making changes to their roster.

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport the Dolphins have waived defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche:

Nkemdiche was initially taken with the 29th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. Despite making quite an investment in him, he has ultimately released this offseason after struggling with injuries to start his career. The Dolphins picked him up off the waiver wire prior to their matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8 and his stint with the team is now over after just two games.

Miami has since signed cornerback and return specialist Marcus Sherels in a corresponding move. Meanwhile, the season-ending injury to wide receiver Preston Williams also allowed them to make room for running back De'Lance Turner. The addition of Turner is likely an attempt to shore up some depth in the backfield after they dealt running back Kenyan Drake to Arizona ahead of the Oct. 29 trade deadline.

It is no secret that the Dolphins are currently in the midst of a grueling rebuild. Fortunately, the win against the New York Jets and the recent acquisition of former Los Angeles Rams cornerback Aqib Talib has helped inject some new life into this team.

Nkemdiche is now hoping to potentially get picked up by another team that sees promise in his status as a former first-round pick.
