Teddy Bridgewater is continuing his remarkable comeback from a potentially career-ending injury he suffered during his time with the Minnesota Vikings. After spending the 2021 season as the Denver Broncos starting quarterback, Bridgewater signed with the Miami Dolphins this offseason, presumably to be Tua Tagovailoa's backup in case he struggles or gets injured.

Bridgewater's deal could be worth up to $10 million, which is just another highlight along the road for battle tested quarterback. After suffering a gruesome injury that would have ended many other people's careers, Bridgewater has battled back to become a reliable quarterback who can hold his own when he finds his way on the field.

Teddy Bridgewater's return to the field has made him a role model for many athletes who have suffered severe injuries along the way. But Bridgewater doesn't see many of his NFL peers trying to be role models like he has. It spurred a lengthy message from Bridgewater that he posted on his Instagram, accusing NFL players of “acting gangsta” rather than trying to set a good example for the youth.

Teddy Bridgewater is right to say that NFL players should act as role models, as many people, especially younger kids, look up to NFL athletes for their play on the field. Setting a bad example for them would be doing a disservice to the game of football.

And while not every player falls under this catagory, Bridgewater makes a good point that players try to act tough once they have made it to the league and have a lot of money. Bridgewater's post serves as a call to the rest of the league to do better, and given all the different legal issues players throughout the league are currently facing, it hopefully will not fall on deaf ears.
