The Miami Dolphins placed the franchise tag on star wide receiver Jarvis Landry last week. And now, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport said in a tweet on Thursday night that the Dolphins have granted Landry and his agent permission to look into a trade.

“The Dolphins have given franchise tagged WR Jarvis Landry and his representative permission to seek and facilitate a trade. It will take cooperation from all parties,” Rapoport said.

With the NFL's free agency frenzy slated to begin in less than two weeks on March 14, Landry's future in Miami is definitely up in the air more so than it was before. However, according to a tweet yesterday from Josina Anderson of ESPN, the Dolphins and Landry had a meeting on Wednesday.

“I'm told that communication ‘went extremely well' in the meeting Wednesday evening with WR Jarvis Landry's rep and the Dolphins,” Anderson said.

On Thursday evening, Anderson followed up on her previous tweet and said that Landry's representative has been in talks with at least multiple teams already.

“I’m told that there has been at least two teams that have been communicated to since the Dolphins gave Jarvis Landry’s rep permission to pursue a trade,” Anderson tweeted.

Landry, who was selected by the Dolphins in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of LSU, led the entire NFL in receptions last season with 112 catches for 987 yards and nine touchdowns.

That was despite the fact that the Dolphins struggled with consistent quarterback play all season between veterans Jay Cutler and Matt Moore. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who missed the entire 2017-18 season due to a knee injury he suffered during training camp, was supposed to be the team's starter for the regular season opener.
