The Miami Dolphins play the New England Patriots twice a season, but since 2010, Miami had only won only four of their 18 matchups. It looked like the Dolphins were going to fall again, down 33-28 to the Patriots in Miami, but like the Tennessee Titans of 2000, the Dolphins pulled out a miracle of their own on a 69-yard play as time expired.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw a 14-yard pass to wide receiver Kenny Stills, who lateraled the football to wide receiver DeVante Parker who quickly tossed it to running back Kenyan Drake. Drake found a seam in the New England prevent defense and found only defensive back J.C. Jackson and tight end Rob Gronkowski between him and the end zone. The speedy Drake caused Gronk to stumble, and Dolphins teammates mobbed Drake as they celebrated the win.

Drake only had six rushes for 24 yards, but he was credited for a 55-yard touchdown reception for his role in the winning play. Tannehill did his part, tallying 265 passing yards and three touchdowns on 19 attempts and 14 completions.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady did all he could to fend off the fish with three passing touchdowns of his own to go along with 358 yards through the air, but the loss brought New England's record to 9-4 while the Dolphins' win made them 7-6— the Dolphins are 6-1 at home this year.

New England still has a two-game lead on Miami in the AFC East, but Miami is still knocking on the wild card's door. Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens, and Indianapolis Colts are all also 7-6. However, the Colts and Ravens currently have the edge on the Dolphins due to tiebreakers.
