The Miami Dolphins have been plagued by injuries to their wide receiver core that includes Albert Wilson suffering a hip injury that has sidelined him.

Although the injury will not require surgery, the Dolphins are expected to place Wilson on the injured reserve, according to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network.

Wilson had been putting together a promising 2018 campaign that saw him record 26 catches for 391 receiving yards and four touchdowns. This saw him post one 100 receiving yard performance with six catches for 155 receiving yards and two touchdowns against the Chicago Bears. This included notching a pair of touchdowns that were more of than 40 yards. Wilson had established himself as the big-play wide receiver for Dolphins' passing game that helped stretch the field. The team is already without Kenny Skills due to a groin injury.

These absence has now thrust DeVante Parker back into the mix as he has played in just one game this season that took place back in Week 3 against the Oakland Raiders where he hauled in two of his three targets for 40 receiving yards. He had initially missed the first two games played as he was recovering from finger surgery that occurred in mid-August. Parker has now missed the last four games due to a quadriceps injury that pushed the Dolphins to explore the trade market for a possible move. Miami has had high hopes that the 25-year-old could develop into a legitimate No.1 wide receiver, but injuries have prevented him from fulfilling that potential.

Parker has the chance to grab a significant role in the passing game moving forward as Dolphins are lacking playmakers at the position with only Danny Amendola and Jakeem Grant as the only other two active players in the league. Miami is set to head on the road to take on the Houston Texans in  Week 8.
