In 2003, Dwyane Wade bursted on to the scene, averaging 16.2 points per game his rookie year. He finished third in Rookie of the Year voting, only behind Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James. By 2005, Wade had officially arrived, carrying the Heat to a finals victory over the Mavericks, and even securing finals MVP in the process.

From there on out, Wade would go on to dominate the Eastern Conference, but was unfortunately bounced out of the playoffs numerous times. That was until LeBron arrived. From this moment, The Big Three era officially began.

The Heat would make numerous finals appearances, and even back to back finals wins in 2012 and ‘13.

Wade’s career has been filled with clutch shots, monster dunks, unforgettable game winners, and then some. Here are Wade’s best moments at AmericanAirlines Arena.

With just a handful of games left in the 2008-09 season, Dwyane Wade decided to put on a show against the New York Knicks on April 12, 2009, when he erupted for a career high 55 points, including scoring 50 of those points before the fourth quarter even began. Wade hit six of his 12 three-pointers and 19 out of his 30 shots overall. Wade would also go on to win the NBA scoring title days later, averaging 30.2 points per game.

Wades final season in the NBA, otherwise known as his “One Last Dance”, has been filled with countless unforgettable moments. But nothing will top his game winner against Golden State on February 27, 2019. With Miami down by two, Dion Waiters gives up the ball to Wade, where his shot is immediately blocked, but is then able to retrieve the ball back and throw up a 3 point prayer that banked its way in, leaving everyone stunned.

Heck, even Stephen Curry couldn’t help but crack a smile. Wade would then go on to jump on the scorers table and pound his chest in front of the Miami crowd.

On March 9th, 2009, the Heat squared off against the Chicago Bulls in what would end up being arguably the most iconic game of Wade’s career. It was a hard fought matchup where it would take double overtime to decide a winner. As double overtime came to a close, John Salmons of the Bulls was looking to take the game winning shot, that is until Wade steals the ball from him and throws up a one legged 3-pointer while sprinting past half court, and hits the shot as time expires.

Wade immediately ran to the scorers table and shouted “This is my house!” Although this will go down as one of the most iconic moments in Wade’s career, one can only hope that in what looks to be Wade’s final game at American Airlines Arena tonight against the 76ers, that he can leave us with another spectacular moment. To one of the best shooting guards of all time, thank you for all of the unforgettable memories.
