The Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins will take part in an NFC East bout in Week 1 this Sunday. To no one's surprise, the Eagles are 10-point favorites, which is the largest point-spread among all 32 teams in Week 1.

Entering 2019, Doug Pederson's squad looks slightly different on both sides of the ball. On offense, Carson Wentz will make his return, but he will be without Nick Foles as his backup.

Over the past two seasons, Foles has had to step in for Wentz after injuries have ended the 26-year-old quarterback's seasons prematurely. In 2017, the new starter for the Jacksonville Jaguars helped Philadelphia secure their first Super Bowl victory in franchise history.

Along with Foles' departure, the team also added Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders, and DeSean Jackson to their arsenal of weapons. Aside from that, they still have Alshon Jeffery and Zach Ertz at Wentz's disposal.

The Eagles' defense doesn't lack talent either with Fletcher Cox and new free-agent acquisitions Malik Jackson and Zach Brown. On the backend, they also still boast Malcolm Jenkins as their leader in the secondary.

As for the Redskins, Jay Gruden has confirmed that veteran Case Keenum will start under center to begin the season. Considering that, here are three bold predictions for the Eagles versus the Redskins in Week 1.

3. Eagles Will Have Four Interceptions on Keenum

Throughout the 2018 season, the Eagles had an injury-riddled secondary and failed to create many interceptions. With some of their key players returning, they should be able to cause some problems for an inconsistent quarterback like Keenum.

Two years ago, Keenum was leading the Minnesota Vikings to an NFC Championship game against the Eagles. Last year, the veteran quarterback had an abysmal season with 15 interceptions with the Denver Broncos.

With Trent Williams not protecting his blindside, Keenum is going to be under pressure all game. Due to having to rush his throws to his mediocre receiving corps, the Eagles will intercept at least four of his passes on Sunday.

2. Eagles Rush for 200 Yards On the Redskins

As previously mentioned, the Eagles added Howard and Sanders to bolster their running game for this season. Considering their focus to improve the position, Philadelphia will deploy their two-headed backfield on Sunday by rushing for over 200 yards.

The Eagles also want to preserve Wentz this season and the best way to do that is to run the football as much as possible. In this game, Philadelphia will jump on Washington early and will have plenty of opportunities to run the ball to kill the clock.

Also, Wentz is a capable runner so he could contribute some yards to the cause as well. The Redskins have a decent defensive line but the Eagles have a more-than-capable offensive line to create running lanes. Philadelphia will be running rampant at home in Week 1.

1. Eagles Will Win 41-17

Again, Philadelphia enters this game as 10-point favorites but considering where both teams are at right now, that seems sort of low. The Eagles will embark on their journey to the playoffs by taking down the Redskins by a score of 41-17.

The Linc will be jumping on Sunday with Wentz returning and getting to see their beloved Eagles play again. Pederson will have plenty of clever plays drawn up to showcase some of his new weapons in the offense as well.

Considering everything in this game, Philadelphia should be able to handily win this game on both sides of the ball. The defense will force turnovers and the offense will capitalize on those opportunities—rinse and repeat.

Last season, the Eagles had their way with the Redskins, defeating them by an average of 19.5 points in both games. They also won their last game against Washington by the score of 24-0. This Sunday, the Eagles will defeat the Redskins by 24 points for the second-straight game in a row.
