It has been smooth sailing for the Philadelphia Eagles for most of this season, but from time to time, they’ll also have to deal with some bad breaks. Take for example the sudden appearance of wide receiver Alshon Jeffery’s name on the injury report with an ankle issue on Thursday, per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

Jeffery, however, is confident that he’ll be able to take the field when the Eagles battle their bitter rivals, the Dallas Cowboys, this Sunday in Arlington, according to NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Dave Zangaro.

Jeffery has been on a roll of late, as the 27-year-old wideout has caught eight passes for 146 yards and three touchdowns over the past two games. Before the Eagles' Week 9 bye, Jeffery torched the Denver Broncos’ secondary for 84 receiving yards and a pair of TD grabs on six receptions in a 51-23 victory.

In case Jeffery does not get the green light to play versus the Cowboys, Philly should remain a force to reckon with on offense. Quarterback Carson Wentz will still have plenty of options with the likes of Zach Ertz, Torrey Smith, Nelson Agholor, and Mack Hollins, who are all capable of making things happen downfield.

So far this year, Jeffery has 34 catches, 500 receiving yards, and five touchdowns.
