The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to a one-year deal with free-agent safety Andrew Sendejo, according to Peter Schrager of NFL.com.

Sendejo spent the 2018 campaign with the Minnesota Vikings, playing in just five games before suffering a groin injury that ultimately landed him on the injured reserve list. During the time he was on the field, Sendejo registered 27 tackles.

The 31-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Rice University, went undrafted but eventually landed with the Dallas Cowboys in 2010. However, he appeared in just two contests during his rookie season, logging just one tackle.

Sendejo then made his way to the Vikings in 2011, but he did not begin to receive significant playing time until his third season with the club, when he participated in all 16 games and made 10 starts. He finished with 84 tackles and an interception.

The following season, Sendejo was demoted to a reserve role, making just three starts and totaling 27 stops and a forced fumble. However, he reclaimed his starting job the next year, recording 73 tackles, a half of a sack, a pick, three forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.

From that point moving forward, the San Antonio native became Minnesota's starting strong safety, and in 2016, he posted 66 tackles, a half of a sack, a pair of interceptions, a fumble recovery, and four passes defended.

Sendejo then went on to tally 77 tackles, two picks, and seven passes defended in 2017.

The Eagles are coming off of a season in which they won nine games and made it to the Divisional Round of the playoffs, where they fell to the New Orleans Saints.
