The drama surrounding Donovan McNabb doesn't appear to be dying down anytime soon. The former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback made headlines a couple of days ago when he suggested the team could replace Carson Wentz at some point. Many Eagles players came to Wentz's defense and accused McNabb of essentially just being a hater.

McNabb has had a contentious relationship with the team ever since he left Philly, and it wasn't just current Eagles who had a bone to pick with him. Former Eagles receiver Freddie Mitchell also has a beef with McNabb, and he's now claiming that his former quarterback cost him “at least between 20 and 40 million dollars,” per TMZ Sports.

Mitchell alleges that McNabb grew to resent him and that he refused to throw him the ball. “He hated that people loved me more than him,” Mitchell said. Mitchell thinks McNabb is responsible for him not earning a second contract in Philadelphia, which would've given him a big payday.

While Mitchell might have a legitimate gripe with McNabb, he's probably at the very least being hyperbolic. The 2001 first round pick from UCLA never panned out in Philadelphia, and he quickly fell out of favor with the coaching staff. After becoming the center of a controversy around Super Bowl XXXIX for his war of words with Bill Belichick and members of the Patriots, the Eagles released him in May of 2005.

After being cut by the Eagles he briefly latched on with the Chiefs, but he never again appeared in a regular season game in the NFL. In four seasons in Philadelphia, he finished with 90 catches for 1,263 yards and five touchdowns.
