The Philadelphia Eagles made a splash with the acquisition of former Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard this offseason. It seems he is just as excited to get to work with quarterback Carson Wentz.

According to Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94WIP Radio, Howard feels Wentz is a special player:

“I’ve seen Carson Wentz and what he can do,” Howard said. “He is an MVP caliber player when he is at the top of his game.”

There is certainly plenty of truth to Howard's comments. Although Wentz has fallen on rough times as of late, there is a reason he is still considered one of the most promising, young quarterbacks in the NFL. Howard is confident that he can get back to playing at an elite level.

Wentz had been in the midst of an MVP-caliber season during the 2017 campaign. His stellar numbers paired with the Eagles' tremendous success in the regular season would have made him a shoo-in for the award. Unfortunately, he suffered a torn ACL down the final stretch of the season and has since struggled to stay healthy. As a result, his production has dwindled as of late.

Regardless, it is clear that Howard is still optimistic about what his quarterback is capable of. The Eagles have committed to Wentz as their long-term quarterback after parting ways with long-time backup Nick Foles. Despite all their recent changes, Philadelphia still has high expectations for this offense moving forward. It is safe to say that both Wentz and Howard will be the driving force behind whatever they are able to achieve next season.
