The Philadelphia Eagles welcomed newly acquired running back Jordan Howard last week. He is advertising what opposing defenses can expect next season.

Howard was very solid in his three seasons with the Chicago Bears, averaging well over 1,000 yards each season. Now that Howard has been traded to Philadelphia, it's extremely likely his momentum will carry over to the Eagles. Philadelphia gets a young, powerful running back who could spend many more years with the team.

The Eagles went after Howard for a reason: They recognize what he can offer to the offense. He may be their long-awaited answer at the position. Philadelphia has had plenty of running backs come and go over the years after the team mysteriously traded LeSean McCoy a handful of years ago. With Howard likely leading the charge for the running back group, the team may now have the capability to not field such a pass-heavy offense. Howard's skill set takes a lot of pressure off quarterback Carson Wentz, who will likely be eased back into action after another significant injury.

The Eagles' offense will be fearsome in 2019 after trading for Jordan Howard as well as wide receiver DeSean Jackson. Those two new additions join tight end Zach Ertz and wide receivers Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor, as well as the elite offensive line the team possesses. The Eagles will try to regain their 2017 Super Bowl-winning form. This team looks increasingly more ready to do so.
