It's looking more and more like the Philadelphia Eagles could be without their No. 1 running back when they take on the New England Patriots in a pivotal matchup on Sunday.

According to Michael Giardi of NFL Network, Jordan Howard has still not been cleared for contact as a result of a stinger he suffered during the Eagles' win over the Chicago Bears in Week 9.

Given that Howard has had nearly two full weeks to heal and is still limited, it appears that he either won't be playing in Week 11 or won't be 100 percent if he does.

This would be a crucial blow to an Eagles offense that has relied heavily on Howard this season, especially over the last couple of weeks.

During Philadelphia's Week 8 win over the Buffalo Bills, Howard carried the ball 23 times for 96 yards and a touchdown. Then, against his former Bears club, he totaled 82 yards off 19 attempts, reaching the end zone once.

On the season overall, Howard has rushed for 525 yards and six scores while averaging 4.4 yards per carry.

Philly initially acquired the 25-year-old in a trade with Chicago back in March.

Howard, who played his collegiate football at Indiana University, was originally selected by the Bears in the fifth round (150th pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He enjoyed a spectacular rookie campaign, racking up 1,313 yards and six touchdowns, registering 5.2 yards per attempt. Since then, however, Howard's production has waned, as he logged 4.1 yards per tote in 2017 followed by a meager 3.7 yards per carry last year.

The Eagles are 5-4 and are currently tied with the Dallas Cowboys for first place in the NFC East.
