The Philadelphia Eagles surprised a lot of people when they selected quarterback Jalen Hurts in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

This was so shocking because they already have superstar Carson Wentz at the position, and he's signed to a massive deal.

However, Wentz and Hurts are not the only two quarterbacks on the roster. Nate Sudfeld was the backup last year, and now his job could be in jeopardy.

According to Michael Greger of Heavy.com, Sudfeld does not feel threatened by Hurts.

This is not Sudfeld downplaying the ability of Hurts at all. It is simply him saying this is not going to change his approach to the game.

Sudfeld likely means that he does not care who is or is not on the roster, he is always going to be working at 100 percent trying to get better and secure a job.

The quarterback was selected in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Washington Football Team. Sudfeld has been with the Eagles since 2017, though, and in that time, he has appeared in just three games. In those three games, Sudfeld has completed a fantastic 20 of his 25 pass attempts (80 percent) for 156 yards and one touchdown (no interceptions).

However, his job could be in jeopardy. Clearly the Eagles think highly of Hurts if they drafted him that high with a star already at the position.

There is some good news for Sudfeld, though. Philadelphia may want to use 2020 as a learning year for Hurts, and that could mean having him placed third on the depth chart so there is never a worry that he will be thrown into a game with no notice if Wentz is hurt.

What happens after that is unknown.

For now, Sudfeld can only control what is in his power. That is how hard he works and his approach to the game. Apparently, the Eagles adding a potential star rookie quarterback into the mix isn't changing any of that.
