The Philadelphia Eagles went 9-7 in 2019. Not a fantastic record, but it still won them the NFC East. However, the Eagles did exit the playoffs quickly, losing in the Wild Card round to the Seattle Seahawks.

So while it was ultimately a semi-successful season, changes still needed to be made. Those changes were made on Thursday. Adam Schefter reported on Twitter that the Eagles were parting ways with two coaches.

Offensive coordinator Mike Groh and wide receiver coach Carson Walch both deserve some credit. They had to work this season with a lot of issues.

The offense of the Eagles was incredibly banged up all year. By the time the playoffs rolled around, Greg Ward was a top target at wide receiver. Injuries and poor play seriously depleted this offense.

That being said, Philadelphia could look at the “poor play” of some of the talent and throw that at the coaches. Still, they were both working with serious disadvantages at times. That should help them when looking for jobs elsewhere.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are now searching for replacements.

They could go in-house and promote someone (like quarterback coach Press Taylor) or they could start looking for an outside hire. Of course, if they promote from within, there will just be a new position they need to fill anyways.

Due to that, the Eagles will need to make some outside hires. So a few names could start to get floated around. Whoever it is, the Eagles need their offense to be much better next season.
