The Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback room will look a little different heading into training camp this year. Most recently, they've added Cody Kessler.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Eagles will be signing Kessler tomorrow. Kessler was recently cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

This offseason, the Eagles have seen Nick Foles leave for free agency while they've added Kessler, Luis Perez, and Clayton Thorson to their roster.

It seems like Philadelphia could have five quarterbacks on their roster for training camp—including Carson Wentz and Nate Sudfeld. Kessler will definitely have a chance to make a roster spot for the Eagles.

With Wentz having injury issues the past couple of seasons, the Eagles are likely going to keep three quarterbacks on their roster. Basically, the other four quarterbacks—besides Wentz—are fighting for the other two spots.

The former Jaguars quarterback is heading into his fourth season in the NFL. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2016 but found himself in Jacksonville in 2018.

In his three seasons, Kessler has started in 12 games. Over those 12 games, he's thrown for 2,089 yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions.

Kessler isn't necessarily starting material in the NFL but there's no doubt he can be a solid backup. After all, that's all the Eagles really need behind Wentz.

Philadelphia knows with the departure of Foles that they need to find someone they can rely upon if Wentz goes down again. They know what they have in Sudfeld so there's nothing wrong with bringing in new faces.

Doug Pederson will have all offseason to make a decision on what quarterbacks make the roster.

Now, you can add Kessler's name to the list of guys trying to make his case.
