Emoni Bates could announce his much-awaited decision for the next chapter of his basketball career as soon as this Friday. In an Instagram post made by Bates' father, E.J., it appears that the incredibly hyped phenom out of Ypsilanti, Michigan will be revealing which among the options in front of him he will take.

Now there’s nothing to leak! It’s unfortunate a kid can’t have a moment to himself without people trying to ruin it! No such thing as a surprise the thirst for first is ridiculous! Who’s moment is it? Let me know what the sources say.

This also came after 247Sports's initial report that an announcement will be made by Emoni Bates on Wednesday — the final day for registrations for Memphis classes, per Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog.

A bonafide five-star recruit, Bates is viewed as an absolute game-changer for whichever team he would play for in college. In 2020, Emoni Bates committed to play in East Lansing for Tom Izzo and the Michigan Spartans but decided to take that back and re-classify to the Class of 2021 instead of 2022 after weighing other options, such as taking his talents to the professional level straight out of high school.

Right now, Emoni Bates has offers to play for the Duke Blue Devils, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, Kentucky Wildcats, Michigan Wolverines, and Michigan State. There's also the possibility that he would take the professional route and play in the NBA G League.
