F1 legend Fernando Alonso blasts the scheduling done this season, suggesting that drivers experience a brutal calendar throughout the year.

Teams have to go through a grueling six races within eight weeks, all for ending the season. This string is capped by a triple-header, made up of Mexico, Brazil, and Qatar. Alonso doesn't seem to be a fan of how F1 mapped out these races.

“This triple-header is not the most convenient. Each race is separated by 12 hours in a plane or so and it’s important the team and the mechanics are able to preserve their energy.

“They were packing everything away until late at night to catch a flight to go to Brazil, unpack everything again, set up the garage. It’s on the limit for them.”

“We have to find better solutions for the calendar.”

Fans are very much aware of the brewing rivalry between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, with the dutchman leading in points for the driver's championship. Alonso stresses that these last few races matter the most for them.

“Obviously only [Max] Verstappen and [Lewis] Hamilton are fighting for the championship and it’s a very long season with these trips at the end,” the Alpine driver told reporters.

“Austin is only an hour and a half from Mexico City but that was two weeks ago. It’s strange that some races are separated by two weeks and other races on different continents follow one after the other.”

With comments like these coming from an F1 legend, will the season's schedule loosen next year?
