F1 Championship rivals Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen were summoned and inspected due to regulation breaches by both drivers after the Brazilian GP qualifying session for the sprint race.

After changing his engine, Hamilton was able to display a blistering pace by taking pole position away from Red Bull's Verstappen—The Brit held a comfortable 4-tenths lead ahead of Verstappen in 2nd. However, it was later revealed by the F1 stewards that there had been issues regarding Hamilton's rear wing.

Upon making post-qualifying checks, FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer found that Hamilton's rear wing did not comply with F1 rules and regulations.

Via Motorsport:

“The requirement for the minimum distance was fulfilled. But the requirement for the maximum of 85mm, when the DRS system is deployed and tested in accordance with TD/011-19, [was] not fulfilled.”

On the opposite side of the F1 paddock, Verstappen had also noticed some differences with the Mercedes of Hamilton. Max couldn't help but take a peek at Hamilton's rear wing and compared it to that of his Red Bull—maybe unknowingly, Verstappen had breached rules and regulations as well through his actions at Parc Ferme.

“Verstappen will meet with the stewards over an ‘alleged breach of Article 2.5.1 of the FIA International Sporting Code'.”

“Article 2.5.1 of the ISC reads: ‘Inside the Parc Fermé, only the officials assigned may enter. No operation, checking, tuning or repair is allowed unless authorised by the same officials or by the applicable regulations.'”

Both these incidents have put Hamilton and Verstappen at risk of getting sanctioned by the F1 stewards. This could mean disqualifications in qualifying for the Championship rivals—having them start at the back of the grid for the sprint race.
