Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman told NFL Network's Mike Garofolo that he's OK after a late-game injury scare in their 18-12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night. Freeman limped to the sideline with apparent discomfort in his knee during the game's closing minutes.

Freeman did not address the injury in his postgame interview.

The two-time Pro Bowler only had six carries for a total of 36 yards during the loss. He recorded three receptions for 14 yards and did not reach the end zone on the night.

Freeman ran for 865 yards and seven touchdowns as the team's primary back last season. The Falcons will need to increase his carries if they want him to produce similar numbers and improve their horrible scoring success in the red zone.

Freeman's fellow running back, Tevin Coleman, had nine carries for 19 yards for one touchdown. He also recorded one reception on a screen pass that he took 26 yards up the field.

Matt Ryan completed 21 of 43 pass attempts for 251 yards. He threw one interception and did not record a touchdown pass. Ryan only connected on 1 of 9 red zone passing attempts. He was 0 for 3 when targeting star receiver Julio Jones in the red zone.

Over the last two seasons, Ryan has only completed 1 of 20 red zone passing attempts to Jones. While Ryan can air the ball out, Atlanta's offense needs to get things together when it matters most. Falcons offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian needs to get creative in the coming weeks.
