This is certainly an encouraging update for the Falcons. Jones had tested out the shoulder prior to kickoff last week before determining that he would need to sit out. His participation practice this time around should provide more clarity on his status for Week 14.

Jones’ absence was sorely missed by Atlanta’s offense as they struggled to find their rhythm without him. Regardless, they will have a much more favorable matchup this time around against a Carolina team that just parted ways with head coach Ron Rivera. This is a great opportunity for them to get back on track and potentially end the 2019 NFL season on a high note.

It is for this reason that the Falcons would be wise to take a cautious approach with his recovery. The playoffs have long been well out of reach and the last thing they need is for their franchise cornerstone to suffer another setback going into the offseason.
