The Atlanta Falcons have leaned on Matt Ryan at quarterback for over a decade now. But could there be a chance that he's already played his last game in an ATL uniform? It's apparently not outside the realm of possibility based on the latest comments from General Manager Terry Fontenot and coach Arthur Smith.

Asked about Matt Ryan's status as the Falcons QB next season, Fontenot was non-committal and said the team would be looking “at every position” when making roster moves this offseason.

Via Pro Football Talk:

“I’m not going to say anything about any particular player or any . . . because if I answer that question, we can go through the entire roster and talk about who they are,” Fontenot said, via D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “But I would say we’re going to look to add to every position and try to improve this roster.”

Head coach Arthur Smith was candid in his response to whether the Falcons would deal their former MVP gunslinger. According to him, a sweet enough offer is something the team would have to take it.

“Depends what the offer is,” Smith conceded. “It’s like the old Don Corleone: They give you an offer you can’t refuse, I think you’ve got to take it. But that’s with everyone. You can ask Terry, if somebody wanted to give a bag of balls for me, they’d push me out the door.”

Matt Ryan has been highly productive in his 14 seasons with the Atlanta Falcons so far, making four Pro Bowl appearances and winning MVP in 2016.
