Shikanoin Heizou is the latest character revealed by HoYoverse, slated for release in the upcoming Genshin Impact version 2.8.

Shikanoin Heizou is an upcoming Anemo character that is due for release when Genshin Impact version 2.8 comes out, which may come out in late June or early July. This continues HoYoverse's practice of releasing characters before they get leaked by Genshin Impact leakers elsewhere. Previously, Genshin Impact leaks showed an artwork purportedly of Shikanoin Heizou, which this announcement has proven to be false.

While we don't have an exact release date for the character yet, fans are already enamored by the new male Anemo character. Anemo characters in Genshin Impact usually fit in with mix-element teams where the Anemo element can help amplify and spread other elements to more enemies and to keep the elemental effects going on for much longer. We do not know a whole lot of information about Shikanoin Heizou as of the moment, but we're sure that HoYoverse will eventually release more details as we approach the next chapter in the Traveler's story.

Genshin Impact is currently on version 2.6, with the release of the much-awaited Genshin Impact 2.7 delayed for an indeterminate period. As a form of apology, HoYoverse has been giving away freebies to active players which increase in quantity the longer the patch is delayed. Nevertheless, HoYoverse still hasn't given a release date for the next version of the game, which is expected to usher in two new characters: Shinobu and Yelan.
