Kuki Shinobu sneaks her way into Genshin Impact version 2.7. Here's how you can handle this brave new ninja warrior! You can now pull for Kuki Shinobu as she debuts in today's banner for Genshin Impact.

Being the right-hand member of the Arataki Gang isn’t easy, and there’s only one person who can handle such a daunting role–Kuki Shinobu. Coming in Genshin Impact Version 2.7, Kuki Shinobu is the game’s newest 4-star character who fills a very unique archetype: the first Electro healer. In this article, we will explain each of her abilities, look at her ideal weapons and artifacts, and find out the best team composition for our hardworking masked shinobi.

Kuki Shinobu Abilities and Overview

Kuki Shinobu is a 4-star Electro sword-wielder, capable of delivering constant Electro damage and healing. While her damage potential is not that amazing, her niche of being able to provide Electro resonance and constant healing at the same time, is valuable especially for newer players. She gets even better with more constellations, especially C2 which pushes her Skill uptime to 100%. There are many ways to scale her abilities, but turning her into a tank-healer is the best one for beginner players.

Shinobu’s Elemental Skill is Sanctifying Ring. When activated, Shinobu pays a part of her current HP to create a long-lasting ring of Electro blades, which expands every 1.5 seconds, along with damaging nearby enemies and healing the current active character.

This ability is the most important part of Shinobu’s kit. Unlike every other contemporary healer in the game, Shinobu’s healing has the best uptime among all of them, and it reaches 100% uptime once you reach her 2nd constellation. The healing amount is also as good as Barbara’s, which is sufficient for nearly all kinds of content.

Shinobu’s Elemental Burst is Gyoei Narukami Kariyama Rite. When activated, Shinobu creates a circular field of Electro in front of her, dealing continuous Electro damage for a brief duration.

Her Burst is honestly pretty underwhelming, and doesn’t scale quite well because of its HP scaling and bad damage ratios. Because of this, it will be hard for Shinobu to fill the sub-DPS or burst damage role, and is better off scaling her healing output.

Best Weapons for Kuki Shinobu

Freedom-Sworn – Lv90 – 608 ATK – 198 EM

This weapon is one of the few things that set Shinobu apart from the other similar Electro support characters. Being a sword user allows her to use this powerful weapon, and its high EM substat helps her scale a bit more thanks to her talent. This is especially useful for players using Superconduct teams who don’t own a Raiden Shogun, as Shinobu can still supplement a lot of buffs and healing for the team.

Favonius Sword – Lv90 – 454 ATK – 61.3 Energy Recharge

For the general use Shinobu build, this gacha-obtained weapon is relatively accessible for those who have played quite a bit already. Its passive providing extra Elemental Particles synergizes with the Electro Resonance, and all-in-all, provides a great deal of Energy generation for the whole team. The drawback of this build is the need to find enough Crit Rate from the substats to consistently proc the weapon’s passive ability.

Iron Sting – Lv90 – 510 ATK – 165 EM

Iron Sting is a good F2P option for a general use build that leans toward DPS, and is the most accessible one as it is craftable. It’s not as optimal as the other options, but is passable, and can be used even for other characters like Kazuha or DPS Bennett.

  • 4-Piece Tenacity of the MillelithBecause Shinobu’s Skill uptime is very high, this artifact set is a no-brainer for all kinds of Shinobu builds. The 2-piece set bonus provides %HP Bonus, which helps scale her damage and healing, while the 4-piece set bonus provides an invaluable yet near-permanent ATK buff for the whole team. Needless to say, you’re going to farm this Domain quite a lot. Here is the main stat priority: For pure support, get HP sands, HP goblet, and Healing Bonus circlet. For a DPS build, get HP sands, Electro goblet, and Crit Rate/DMG circlet. For the substats, the priority goes like this: HP > EM > Crit > ER.
  • 4-piece Noblesse Oblige – If you haven’t prepared some artifacts or resin for Shinobu, but want to use her right away, a 4-piece Noblesse Oblige will work fine for her. It might be suboptimal, but it still fills her support role thanks to her low-cooldown 60 Energy cost Burst, allowing high uptime of the 4-piece set bonus.

Team Composition Guide for Mender of Tribulations

Eula Superconduct Eula, Kuki Shinobu, +2 supports

If you don’t have Raiden Shogun, Shinobu can act as a competent replacement for the missing Electro Archon. Thanks to her healing, Eula will have a better time tanking damage while she’s stacking hits for her Elemental Burst. The near-permanent uptime of Shinobu’s skill also provides consistent Superconduct reactions that increase Eula’s damage significantly.

Modern Tazer – Kuki Shinobu +3 Electro

Most F2P Tazer teams actually lack healing, since they usually don’t bring Barbara or Bennett into their comps. Because of this, newer players may get intimidated when trying the Tazer teams, due to the lack of comfort that healing provides. Shinobu’s addition to the roster completely changes this, and is a great boon for low AR or early game players for finishing difficult content on their own.
