The New York Giants are not slated to serve as a competitive football team come 2019 with both the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles currently slotted in as the two favorites in the NFC East division. However, with the 2019 schedule recently being released by the league, it appears as though the Giants have already encountered a small leg up on the competition.

After the team's Week 1 matchup on the road in Dallas against the aforementioned Cowboys, the Giants will only leave the Eastern Time Zone one time for the rest of the regular season. With the rival Cowboys playing in the Central Time Zone, the Giants' only trip away from the Eastern Time Zone will be another trip back to the Central Time Zone to take on the surging Chicago Bears on Sunday, November 24th.

Because of the severely low expectations surrounding the once heralded NFC East franchise, the Giants can certainly use the help they can get going forward.

Of course, New York has remained quite busy this offseason while this notion will seemingly continue for at least another week as the Giants currently own not one but two first round picks in the 2019 NFL Draft. With the festivities slated to kick-off in Nashville later this week, all eyes will be on the Giants as many are eagerly awaiting the team's decision of whether or not to select a quarterback with one of those two picks early on.

The Giants are also looking to rebound in the absence of current Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr, who New York traded away earlier in the offseason.
