New York Giants coach Ben McAdoo apparently can't help himself. While currently operating on one of the hottest seats in the entire National Football League, he has once again used his players to deflect blame and avoid accountability.

“The thing that was disappointing that showed up on film is the desire to finish on a consistent basis,” McAdoo said, via Newsday. “It’s not one player and it’s not on all plays. It’s something that almost looks like at times we’re waiting for someone else to make a play instead of just pulling the trigger and making the play ourselves.”

My goodness, Ben McAdoo. Instead of questioning effort, which has already been something brought up to talk about players giving up on the coach, how about just not doing that?

The Giants released a statement on Monday claiming that the embattled head coach will get a chance to finish the season.

“Ben McAdoo is our head coach and has our support. We are in the midst of an extremely disappointing season. Our performance this year, particularly the past two weeks, is inexcusable and frustrating. While we appreciate that our fans are unhappy with what has occurred, nobody is more upset than we are. Our plan is to do what we have always done, which is to not offer a running commentary on the season. It is our responsibility to determine the reasons for our poor performance and at the end of the year, we will evaluate the 2017 season in its entirety and make a determination on how we move forward.”

Maybe that is why he felt empowered to talk about his players' effort level. Even if that is the case, it just isn't a good look to keep tossing guys under the bus. Stop doing that, Ben!
