For the first time in his NFL career, veteran running back Jonathan Stewart will be donning another uniform aside from the Carolina Panthers as he inked a two-year, $6.8 million deal in free agency with the New York Giants earlier this offseason.

It hasn't taken long for him to set some high level of expectations in front of his new team as he voiced that he is hoping to win the first Super Bowl of his career in New York, according to Matt Lombardo of NJ.com.

Stewart is likely set to step into a secondary role in the running game with the Giants electing to take former Penn State standout running back Saquon Barkley with the second overall pick in this year's draft. Barkley is viewed as being a potential superstar talent at the position that could help the franchise a significant push forward in the 2018 campaign to bounce back after a disastrous 2017 season.

Regardless of the role that Stewart will take, he has proven to be quite a dependable option of the backfield as through his first 10 seasons he has 51 career rushing touchdowns with 7,318 rushing yards. This includes tallying more than 650 rushing yards in all but one campaign of his career. Stewart is coming off a productive season where he had 680 rushing yards with six touchdowns while playing in 15 games with 10 starts.

Stewart has experience playing with a rising star. Last year in Carolina, he did that very thing alongside running back Christian McCaffrey. This should help the 31-year-old remain a viable option in the running game to bring the stability the Giants haven't had in that regard in quite some time.

It is becoming quite clear that New York is looking to make a significant push forward toward the playoffs and possibly further than that in 2018.
