The NFL trade deadline has passed and the New York Giants reportedly received interest on one of their offensive weapons. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Giants declined multiple offers for Evan Engram ahead of the trade deadline.

With the uncertainty of the salary cap situation next season due to COVID-19, there weren't many trades that transpired ahead of the deadline. However, the Giants were a team that received a ton of calls on certain players since they won't be competing for a playoff spot.

One of the popular names involved in calls from other teams was Engram. New York's pass-catching tight end has been a key contributor to the offense this season, but his future with the Giants is uncertain.

Engram began his career with New York as the No. 23 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft out of Ole Miss. Coming into the NFL, Engram was expected to become one of the best tight ends in the league.

In his rookie season, he flashed a ton of potential, hauling in 64 passes for 722 yards and six touchdowns. However, since his rookie campaign, Engram has had injury woes and hasn't been able to show the consistency he showed in his first year.

As of this moment, Engram is under contract through the 2021 season and it remains to be seen if the Giants pick up his fifth-year option for the 2022 season. While New York is amid a rebuild, instead of moving Engram, they believe he can still be a vital piece of their future.
