While the New York Giants have fired Joe Judge after just two seasons to move on to a different direction, it doesn't mean they'll no longer have any sort of problem related to him. In fact, the decision to remove Judge from his post put the Big Apple franchise in a difficult payroll situation.

As Daryl Slater of NJ Advance Media pointed out, Judge's sacking means that the Giants will need to pay three coaches in 2022. They are on their final year of paying the contract buyout of Pat Shurmur, who was relieved of his duties in 2019.

Meanwhile, they will be on the hook with Judge, who signed a five-year, $5 million deal when he took over the team in 2020. Now that he's gone, the Giants will have to look for a new coach and pay him as well.

Both Joe Judge and Pat Shurmur lasted just two seasons in each of their five-year contracts, which speaks volumes on the Giants' desire to see results and progress every year.

So far, however, the team has fumbled the ball on both their coaching decisions and now has to pay extra for it. In the case of Judge, New York regressed in his second season (from a 6-10 record in 2020 to 4-13 in 2021) and finished bottom of the NFC East Division.

Salary problems aside, the Giants are now under pressure to find the next head coach that can stay long-term with the team. After all, they surely don't want to repeat this coaching carousel and pay a premium for their mistakes.
