The New York Giants are in the final stretch of their OTA Offseason Workouts. Unfortunately, despite only a few weeks of workouts, the team is already dealing with a new injury.

Kayvon Thibodeaux has been in a red non-contact jersey for a week after suffering an undisclosed injury during OTAs in late May. However, according to Brian Daboll, Thibodeaux's injury isn't expected to be a long-term issue.

He emphasized that every Giants player in a non-contact jersey has his own individual injury with individual timelines of recovery. That being said, he's hopeful that Thibodeaux can trade his red jersey in before the start of training camp.

NFL insider Ralph Vacchiano tweeted the clip of Daboll's vague response from Giants OTAs Thursday morning.

“I think they're all at different spots, the guys in red jerseys,” the head coach said. “Knock on wood, hopefully he'll be good to go [by training camp]…Hopefully. Again, I'm not going to promise anything. He may or may not.”

New York selected Thibodeaux with the fifth overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. If healthy, the defensive end is expected to become a big part of the Giants' defensive line.

While he didn't give any details on Thibodeaux's injury or his recovery, Daboll's response is a good sign for the rookie's availability moving forward. If he stays on track, the Giants expect Thibodeaux to be out of his non-contact jersey and into a blue one by the end of July for the start of training camp.
