The New York Giants are suspending safety Kamrin Moore indefinitely, the team announced on Twitter.

They released a statement on the situation:

“New York Giants safety Kamrin Moore was arrested over the weekend in Linden, New Jersey, for an alleged domestic violence-related incident. Moore has been suspended by the team pending further investigation.”

In a follow-up tweet, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported more details.

“He was arrested over the weekend in NJ and charged with a third-degree aggravated assault for punching a woman, knocking her unconscious and stepping on her neck,” Rapoport writes.

Moore originally entered the league as a sixth-round pick of the Saints last year. A Boston College product, he was released by the Saints at final cuts, and the Giants claimed him off waivers. He spent the entire season with the team, but appeared in just two games.

Moore was already going to be fighting just for a spot at the bottom of the roster, and this certainly isn't going to help his cause.

Ryan Dunleavy of NJ.com saw the police report, and has even more details.

“Moore is accused of placing his foot on the unidentified woman’s neck and applying pressure during an incident outside of his home on Thursday night, according to Linden police. After she got to her feet, the woman told police she began yelling at Moore and pushed him, and he responded by punching her in the face with a closed fist and causing her to lose consciousness, according to the report,” he writes.

If the charges turn out to be accurate, Moore will almost certainly be released and suspended by the league.
