The New York Giants have entered a new era after signing Brian Daboll as head coach. John Mara, the owner of the organization seems to have made great hiring decisions lately. However, there have been rumors of the franchise potentially trading Saquon Barkley. Now, the team breaks its silence and lets the whole world know how they feel about their star running back.

According to Dan Duggan, he feels the Giants are unlikely to trade Saquon Barkley. This might be a smart decision as Barkley still has time to bounce back. The star running back has the talent to be one of the best rushers in the league, that is, as long as he can remain healthy.

Even though Mara claims the team is “not shopping Saquon” Barkley, he isn't totally ruling out a possible trade either, per Paul Schwartz. Even so, trading away Saquon Barkley doesn't sound like it's high on the priority list for New York. Considering this franchise is in a rebuilding state, keeping the star running back makes a ton of sense for the Giants.

Considering Barkley is still on his rookie deal lessens the risk for New York. The Giants aren't losing much if he doesn't perform. Saquon Barkley might be in a similar situation as Daniel Jones, who has one more season to prove himself as the franchise quarterback.

So, we should expect the Giants to keep Barkley and give him another chance to prove himself. Depending on how it all plays out though, there could be an entirely new offense in New York sooner, rather than later.
