New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has once again found himself under the microscope of scrutiny after his harsh comments about his team aired prior to Week 5 action against the Carolina Panthers.

There has been plenty of feedback and reaction to the matter that has been filtered around the league, and the Giants have made it a lingering topic of conversation. In response to that, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports is reporting that Beckham Jr. has been fined by the Giants.

New York worked to get on top of this matter to avoid it becomes something that continues to drag along. However, the Giants have continued to struggle with no real end in sight as the team has had plenty of issues moving the ball down the field in the passing game. The only two true bright spots on that side of the ball have been Beckham Jr. and stellar rookie running back Saquon Barkley through the first five weeks.

There has been an utter lack of a formidable passing game with quarterback Eli Manning being unable to push the ball down the field that been contributed by combined the lack of consistent protection on the offensive line and his porous play. At the same time, the comments made by Beckham Jr. are something that the team rather have had spill out in-house so that the team can handle without the added media attention that this has created.

The decision to fine Beckham Jr. should set the standard more firmly to what type of behavior off the field isn't deemed as being acceptable. Beyond that, these internal issues will continue to remain the longer the Giants' struggles on the field continue to persist that has now significantly dimmed their playoff hopes after dropping their five out of their first six games played.
