We know the kid has a cannon. It was on full display a week ago when he threw a few footballs at a rookie showcase.

When it comes to baseball, he's not about the effort. Instead, it was kept extremely professional and ceremonial.

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night.

Barkley, 21, is ready to take the NFL by storm. As the No. 2 overall pick in last month's 2018 NFL Draft, he and Odell Beckham Jr. make for one of the league's most dangerous one-two RB-WR combos.

More than his rushing abilities, the Penn State product is a pure athlete. His aforementioned throwing abilities on showcase blew many away last week. It's probably why folks were excited to see him throw from the mound at Yankee Stadium.

Of course, he didn't take a legit attitude towards the honor. Instead, he took the calm approach by one-hopping one at the catcher.

In three years in Happy Valley, Barkley accumulated 3,843 yards and 43 scores on the ground while adding 1,195 yards and eight touchdowns on 102 total grabs through the air. And yes, he also threw for a touchdown and completed two passes in two attempts during his final year with the school.

Hopefully, this won't be the last opportunity for Saquon Barkley to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Yankee Stadium. Should the Canyon of Heroes come calling Barkley's Giants soon, there will be plenty more chances.
