As of right now, fans are patiently waiting for the upcoming God of War Ragnarok to launch sometime this year. Aside from that, everyone can also look forward to what appears to be an upcoming God of War TV series.

Amazon Prime Video is looking to acquire the God of War franchise as they expand their Video Game TV series lineup. According to Deadline, both Prime Video and PlayStation are negotiating a deal to create a live-action series adaptation of God of War. The Expanse Executive Producers Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby and The Wheel of Time Producer Rafe Judkins aim to team up for the project.

Nothing is final as of the moment, however, it’s very likely that the God of War TV series will happen. This wouldn’t be the first time that PlayStation produced a live-action TV series from their exclusive properties. PlayStation fans are still looking forward to the upcoming live-action adaptations of The Last of Us and Twisted Metal. If the God of War TV series does happen, it will join the upcoming Fallout and Mass Effect TV series in Prime Video.

God of War is a massively popular video game franchise taking over consoles since 2005. With that being said, it’ll be interesting to see which direction Amazon and PlayStation will take. There are numerous possibilities to what the TV Series will be about. Amazon can either produce a show about Kratos’ origins or recreate the modern God of War featuring Atreus. Whatever the case may be, we just hope the live-action adaptation of God of War actually happens.
