What first started out as a rumor has now become a reality. HBO has begun filming The Last of Us TV series and fans really look forward to this show. The show's Writer and Producer Craig Mazin confirmed that there will be 10 episodes coming out for the HBO Max show's first season.

Fans of Naughty Dog’s massively popular survival horror game are in for a treat. The TV series will run for an hour each episode, bringing in a total of ten hours for the entire season. Nothing has been confirmed yet regarding whether or not the first season would tell the entire tale of The Last of Us Part One

The show will have five collaborating directors working on the episodes. So far, Mazin confirmed three of the directors working on the show, while the other two are not yet announced. These directors are namely Ali Abbasi (Border), Kantemir Balagov (Beanpole), and Jasmila Zbanic (Quo Vadis, Aida?).

The Last of Us’ TV adaptation was first announced by HBO back in March 2020. We didn't get to hear a lot about the show over the past year, mostly due to the pandemic. But news about the TV show has started to surface more over the last couple of months.

Just recently, Gabriel Luna, who will star as Joel’s brother Tommy, posted on Instagram a groupie photo of him alongside some of his co-stars. This photo of the stars on-set confirms that filming is underway and the show could preview very soon. Some sources say that The Last of Us on HBO will release later this year, but we have a strong feeling that it will come out sometime early-mid 2022.
