Green Bay Packers Week 18 Predictions

4. The Packers will play their starters in Week 18

Even though they've nabbed the top seed in the NFC for the second straight season and earned themselves another first-round bye, the Packers are still likely to play their starters for at least a bit just to keep all their stars fresh heading into the playoffs. After all, a first-round bye gives them a ton of time to rest and recuperate and prepare for the competition.

They won't want to run the risk of getting too much rest and showing up to their first playoff matchup of the new year on the wrong foot by having to play catch-up as a result of being rusty. With all the depth and talent this team possesses, they definitely could rest some of their starters while giving their reserves more playing time in the regular-season finale.

3. Aaron Jones will have a productive day for Green Bay rushing and receiving

After putting on a clinic in the running and passing game during the Packers' lopsided victory over the Vikings in Week 17, don't be surprised to see more of the same from Aaron Jones when they go up against the Lions. As the worst team in the NFL, the Lions have had the toughest go of it this season, and it doesn't seem like that'll change on Sunday when they cross paths with Aaron Jones and the Packers. In the instance that he only plays half the game, there's still a strong probability of Jones putting up big numbers.

2. Marquez Valdes-Scantling will have a bounce-back game against the Lions

Coming off a quiet game against the Vikings, Marquez Valdes-Scantling will be out to do some serious damage against the lowly Lions in Week 18. In previous weeks, he has been the recipient of multiple deep balls by Aaron Rodgers that resulted in touchdowns or big gains for Green Bay, and against the Lions he could repeat this success.

Look for him to potentially come away with multiple touchdowns and a 100-yard receiving day to finish out the regular season. Even though this game doesn't have much meaning for the Packers, it would be a major confidence booster for Valdes-Scantling to light up the stat sheet and give the Lions all types of defensive woes on Sunday afternoon, and he's more than capable of accomplishing this.

1. The Packers will win big and finish out the regular season with a 14-3 record

As they aim to make another deep playoff run and avenge last season's shortcomings, the Packers will be locked in and ready to face the Lions with everything they've got. Even though they may be taking it easy this weekend and not playing all their starters for the entirety of this game, the Packers are deep and dynamic enough to pull off a win even with their backups playing major minutes for half the game. This game may not be a must-win for Green Bay, but some additional momentum heading into the postseason definitely won't hurt them either.
