The Memphis Grizzlies may have suffered an early exit in the 2021 playoffs, but their future certainly looks bright. Aside from Ja Morant who has established himself as a true star in the 2020-21 season, they also have center in Jonas Valanciunas who seems to be hitting his peak.

Morant took notice of that as he reacted to Valanciunas' dominant showing for Lithuania in their pre-Olympic exhibition game against Dominican Republic. The 29-year-old big man recorded 17  points and six rebounds to lead his nation to a morale-boosting 95-62 win.

With the Grizzlies out of the playoffs, seeing the players like Jonas Valanciunas get more work and training in the offseason surely bodes well for their aspirations for the 2021-22 campaign.

Valanciunas averaged 17.1 points, 12.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 62 games for the Grizzlies over the past season. While his numbers dipped to 15/9/2 in the first round against the Utah Jazz, he was still impactful and gave Rudy Gobert a hard time in the middle.

Sure enough, there is nowhere to go but up for the Lithuanian star if he wants to help the Grizzlies become true title contenders. While some fans would like to see him some rest after a long, grueling season, it is also not wrong for him to put in more work as he takes advantage of his healthy body and time as he remains at his peak.

Hopefully, Ja Morant, Valanciunas and the rest of the Grizzlies return with new weapons to use in 2021-22.
