Memphis Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant says he is 100 percent ready for the start of this season's training camp. However, the former Murray State standout hasn't played any five-on-five since his knee surgery earlier this summer, according to a report from Chris Herrington of The Daily Memphian.

The Grizzlies selected Morant with the No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft. By most accounts, he's going to be a solid addition to the team's roster.

In his 33 appearances with Murray State last season, Morant racked up averages of 24.5 points on 49.9 percent from the field (36.3 percent from behind the arc), 10.0 assists, 5.7 rebounds, 1.8 steals, and just under one block (0.8) in 36.6 minutes per outing. He also maintained an 81.3 percent mark from the free-throw line.

Though he hasn't played any five-on-five since recovering from his surgery, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports notes that Morant has been fully cleared to participate in training camp. Still, it's probably safe to assume that the Grizzlies will take a cautious approach.

The Grizzlies finished the 2018-19 regular season campaign with a disappointing 33-49 overall record, which left the team out of playoff contention. Hopefully, with Morant aboard and an offseason to prepare, Memphis will be able to find their way back into the postseason hunt.
