The Memphis Grizzlies are on fire, climbing to second place in the West with Ja Morant leading the way. Even better, they are set to have Dillon Brooks back real soon after two months on the sidelines.

It is definitely surprising that the Grizzlies have been thriving even though they are not in full health. Brooks has been out since January due to an ankle injury. Including Tuesday's showdown with the New Orleans Pelicans, he has now missed 26 straight games because of the issue.

According to Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins, however, it is possible that Brooks returns as early as next week.

“We're getting close. I don't have a firm target date. I'd say hopefully in the next week or so. He's done two 5-on-5 sessions. He's got two more later this week. So, we're hopeful that when we go on the road, sometime during that stretch, he's hopefully back on the floor with us,” Jenkins shared, per NBA reporter Michael C. Wright.

The Grizzlies could really benefit from Dillon Brooks' return, especially in the playoffs. While they have been an impressive bunch, they don't have much playoffs experience, so getting one of their best players back is a massive boost in their title aspirations.

Brooks has played in just 21 games for Memphis this 2021-22 because of injuries, but in those contests he played, he was impactful. He is averaging 18.4 points on 42.6 percent shooting this campaign.

Ja Morant and his Grizzlies play three road games next week, against the Indiana Pacers, Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets. It remains to be seen in which game Brooks will be available, but it's certainly worth keeping an eye on.
